The movie is based on the fantasy novel by Lewis Carroll which he penned in 1865, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
In spite of some mixed reviews the movie grossed over $1 billion worldwide which as of July 2011, makes it the ninth highest-grossing film in history. Pretty remarkable, eh?
